How does the modular design work in practice?
It is very simple. Remove the detachable, washable bed cover, then take out one or more modules, each comprising a bed frame with legs and a sprung mattress. You will then have 2 separate beds. All you may need are legs, mattress toppers and covers, which you can buy here in our shop or from most bed retailers.
For example:
Imagine you are a family of 2 adults and one young child. You buy a 270 cm family bed and sleep comfortably in it for as many years as you need it. A 270 x 200 cm family bed comprises 3 bed bases of 90 cm, each with a bed frame and sprung mattress. Once your child is old enough to move into their own room, you can order separate legs, mattress toppers and covers to fit your new 180 x 200 cm adult bed and 90 x 200 cm child's bed. You can buy these here in our shop or from most well-stocked bed retailers. Alternatively, a tailor can alter the existing items, or you can adapt them yourself if you are handy.
How our family beds are constructed
All our family beds are made from standard-sized modules, comprising bed frames and pocket sprung mattresses in widths of 80 cm, 90 cm, 105 cm, 120 cm and 140 cm. By combining these standard bed modules into a single bed base, we can create every family bed size in our range.
